DENVER – Former DU men’s lacrosse standout Matt Brown has rejoined the program, this time as a volunteer assistant coach, head coach Jamie Munro announced today. A four-year starter for the Pioneers, Brown tallied 113 goals, fourth on the Pioneers’ career goals list.
“Matt is a tremendous addition in both knowledge and character,” Munro said. “We are lucky to have him onboard.”

While at DU, Brown played in 56 games and accumulated 137 points, the sixth-best total in Pioneers’ history. “Its great to be part of this staff,” said Brown. “I am excited to be with this program on this level and can not wait to see our team compete.”

Upon completing his DU career, Brown was drafted fifth overall by the Arizona Sting of the National Lacrosse League, where he played in all 18 games accumulating 40 points. This past summer Brown played for the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse, leading the League in goals with 38 and fourth in the league with 46 points, as well as most game-winning goals. Brown had a 60% shooting percentage. In addition to his coaching duties, Brown runs Destinations by J&M, a property management company.
