Outlaws Acquire All-Star Midfielder Josh Sims
Denver gets three-time All-Star Sims in exchange for 2006 draft pick

DENVER – The Denver Outlaws acquired midfielder Josh Sims from the Baltimore Bayhawks in exchange for Denver’s 2006 first round collegiate draft pick (2nd overall).

A member of the Bayhawks since the league’s inception, Sims played in 47 games (18 starts) and tallied 103 points (74-29—103), including six two-pointers. A three-time All-Star, Sims notched 22 points (18-4—22) in nine career postseason outings, including contributing four goals and two assists to help the Bayhawks to their second Major League Lacrosse title last season.

Last season, Sims started nine games and recorded 23 points (18-5—23) before adding six points (4-2—6) in two playoff starts.

Sims, 27, was originally assigned to the Bayhawks as part of the league’s inaugural draft on Jan. 13, 2001. As a collegiate, Sims was a significant contributor to two national championship teams at Princeton University. He was also named NCAA Division I Midfielder of the Year following his sophomore and senior seasons. He added NCAA All-America and NCAA All-Tournament Team accolades three times.

Sims (6-2, 205) was born July 29, 1978 in Annapolis, Md. and is married to Meghan Bauer Sims. The couple resides in Superior, Colo.
