Vail, CO – Day 2 of the Men’s Elite Tournament produced several exciting quarterfinal match-ups and one complete display of domination. With GMH, Go Fast and Lacrossewear/Jammin’ Salmon moving through to the semis, all eyes were on Team Mammoth as many got a look at what will be Team Canada next month in the World Lacrosse Championships. Team Mammoth did not disappoint, routing Cornell’s Alumni-based Team 21 17-5 on the way back to the semifinals after finishing fifth last year.

The Rocky Mountain Oysters looked very good, challenging top seeded GMH from start to finish. Trailing late in the third quarter, the Philly-based GMH squad finally went on a run to take the lead, but this was the most vulnerable they have looked in years. In other action, Go Fast and Merrill Lynch had a spirited 15-13 battle that found Go Fast on top.

Tomorrow’s semifinals feature two exciting match-ups as GMH takes on Team Mammoth and Lacrossewear/Jammin’ Salmon faces Go Fast.

In Women’s Elite action, the reLAXers continued to show dominance, finishing on top of their pool moving into Tuesday. Other pool winners were Team Wild, PA Express and Tap This. The women will play both the quarterfinals and semifinals on Monday.
