Junior sets a pair of single-game records in Pioneers’ 20-5 win

WOODLAND, Calif. – University of Denver junior midfielder Kristie Leggio (Bay Shore, N.Y.) has been named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week for setting a pair of single-game school records in the Pioneers’ 20-5 win over UC Davis Saturday. She knocked in eight goals, collecting 10 points, in helping her team stay perfect at home this season. Leggio, who scored four times in the first 13 minutes of the game, now leads Denver in goals (24), assists (9), and points (33).

DU stayed undefeated at home this season with a 20-5 MPSF win over UC Davis. The Pioneers’ 20 goals, 10 assists and 30 points Saturday all rank second in single-game school history. Leggio tallied a DU single-game record eight goals and 10 points against the Aggies, while senior Stephanie Greenlees (Lake Forest, Ill.) is now the school’s all-time leading scorer with 178 career points, posting three goals and two assists. The Pioneers will take on Marist in Orlando on Saturday.
