DU Men’s Lacrosse Ranked No. 10 in Preseason Poll
Pioneers achieve highest ranking in LaxMagazine.com poll

DENVER – The University of Denver men’s lacrosse team was ranked 10th in the Lacrosse magazine poll for the upcoming season.

The Pioneers return 27 players from the 2006 squad that compiled the best season in the history of the program with a 12-5 record, went to the team’s first NCAA tournament and won their first Great West Lacrosse League championship after sharing titles in 2003 and 2005. Denver has added 11 freshmen. The Pioneers are led by Inside Lacrosse magazine Preseason All-Americans attacker Ryan Zordani, defenseman David Hahn and defenseman Rory Shepard. Two-time GWLL Coach of the Year Jamie Munro is in his ninth season for the Pioneers. DU was also picked to win the GWLL in 2007.

Defending National Champion Virginia earned the top ranking, followed by Johns Hopkins. Princeton, Duke and Syracuse round out the top-five.

Georgetown and Maryland are sixth and seventh, followed by Cornell and Navy.
